The new LCHS Track

Posted Date: 03/30/26 (03:13 PM)

Good afternoon!
I'm pleased to announce the new surface at the Liberty County High School Track is finished.  Some of the outlying field event areas are still being worked on, but the track is finished.  We are so thankful for Representative Jason Shoaf and Senator Corey Simon for securing the legislative funding and Culpepper Construction/Roberts & Roberts for all the hard work in making this project a reality.  A very special thank you to Chuck and George Roberts for their continued efforts and generosity in making our facilities the best in Rural/1A Schools.  They have personally dropped by daily to check the progress and quality.  They have been instrumental in many projects for numerous years for the Liberty County School District and we could NOT do it without them!

We are trying to plan a small track meet in the next few weeks with some neighboring counties to break it in.  That announcement will be forthcoming.  We would love for you to join us for that inaugural event.

Sincerely,
Kyle Peddie
Liberty County Superintendent of Schools
